The Tax Policy Forum engages in impactful activities to foster informed discussions and facilitate meaningful tax reforms:
- Research and Policy Development: Conducts comprehensive research to generate insights for tax reform and shape policies for economic growth, fairness, and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Dialogues: Fosters constructive dialogues among policymakers, economists, tax professionals and industry representatives through meetings, roundtables and forums, aiming for collaboration and innovative solutions.
- Public Education: Demystifies complex tax concepts and promotes public awareness through workshops, seminars and campaigns, empowering citizens to participate in tax policy discourse.
- Capacity Building: Organizes training sessions and workshops to equip stakeholders with analytical tools and advocacy skills, enhancing the quality and impact of tax policy analysis and advocacy efforts.
- Public Hearings and Lectures: Engages the community through public hearings, lectures, and town hall meetings to solicit feedback, raise awareness and promote civic engagement in tax policy decision-making.
The Tax Policy Forum, a partnership between the USAID Revenue for Growth Project and the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research, aims to enhance Zambia’s tax policy through dialogue, research, and stakeholder engagement. Focused on improving public-private dialogue in tax policy, the Tax Policy Forum supports Zambia’s fiscal goals, including domestic resource mobilization, by facilitating information exchange among the public, tax policymakers, and administrators.
